Overview
The overall concept is a custom version of DASH and a modified ODM that connects to the individual test beds sites via their published WaterOneFlow Web Services. The interface would represent a nationwide map look and feel to illustrate the CUAHSI goal of a seamless nationwide water data network. The nationwide network would be the composite of all the contributing testbed networks.
Networks
Test beds would pro-actively sign up and provide metadata for the services they register. A page where CUAHSI users could share their WOF services would be provided. This would consist of a login/register form and fields to allow contributors to provide metadata, such as:
- Agency responsible for the data (URL link, gif logo ?).
- Name and contact information
An application database would be used to maintain the list of networks and all related metadata. This database would then also be used to replace functionality provided by the HISNetworks.xml configuration file (currently used in the distributed version of DASH). Sites will be periodically harvested to populate the centralized ODM . This ODM would consist primarily of the seriescatalog, sites, and variables tables. The values wouldn't be harvested. - the desire is to have this system by AGU (mgmt call 11/7/07)
